Ozaukee County Senior Fair
On Tuesday, October 21, 9:00 a.m. to noon, Concordia is hosting a special event for senior citizens in the Crossroads Fireside Room. Stop by to learn about preparing for winter, aging strong, preventing falls, and more. Further details listed below!
- Concordia OT/PT students and faculty will offer fall prevention education and screening. They will use the STEADI and other evidence-based information, as well as offer education on the benefits of the Aging Strong individualized fall prevention program.
- Dr. Khan, an Aurora Healthcare Gerontologist and team, will provide a medication review, memory deficits screening, and education on osteoporosis.
- Family Sharing will provide information on their mobile and the senior delivery food pantry.
- ADRC of Ozaukee County will provide information on Stepping On: a group fall prevention program with a disability benefit specialist and other resources.
- Partners for Community Development will offer information on financial support for heating, housing, and other benefits.
- The Southern Ozaukee Fire Department, based in Mequon/Thiensville, will be sharing ideas on safety in the home.
- A local footwear retailer will provide information on how to properly size a shoe and the best shoe ideas to prevent falls and prepare for winter.
